Rolling Stone Album Reviewer Dubs Taylor Swift “The Better Adele”

Have you ever been walking in the woods and see a bee’s hive? And have you ever thought, “I’m going to throw a rock at that beehive.”?

Of course not. But that was the approach of a journalist who reviewed “The Tortured Poets Department” for Rolling Stone Germany.

Ralf Niemczyk, the reviewer in question, penned the headline, “Taylor Swift: ‘The Tortured Poets Department’ – the better Adele.”

According to TMZ:

He writes, “In their mega stew of all modern pop ingredients, the quality of the songwriting continues to beat the material of their colleagues from the R&B Champions League, like Adele.”

Fans were quick to point out that the pitting the two artists against each other was needless, considering they’ve never had beef before.

Others speculated that the comment was made in regard to album sales where Adele’s “25” sold over 3 million albums in the first week while “TTPD” has sold 2 million in just 4 days.

‘THE TORTURED POETS DEPARTMENT’ by Taylor Swift is set to become just the second album by a female artist in history to open with over 2 million units in its first week in the US.

It would join Adele’s ‘25,’ which debuted with 3.48 million units in 2015. pic.twitter.com/9I5TZOQSbD
